With an overnighter at my disposal for my penultimate trip on the winter ticket. I arrived at the lake with about an hour of daylight left. As I was stood in the swim id focused most of my efforts on this winter o saw a carp show. So didn’t hesitate to get set up. I managed to get the last rod out just on dark. With the rods out on spots that had done me well this winter. I opted to give them a reasonable amount of bait for an overnighter but I was confident they’d be wanting some after a recent spell of mild weather following a prolonged cold spell. The evening passed quietly but I did hear a few down my end so went to bed full of optimism of a bite. At 3.30 in the morning I was woken by a steady take on my right hand rod and lifted into what felt like a good fish from them off. It held deep and was just a steady solid fight gradually bringing it towards me, it took one good lunge and run as I got it to within a few yards out but managed to turn it and win then battle and slipped the net under it! I could believe it when I lifted the net to see that it was the one I wanted the most from the lake! An absolutely incredible stunning fish known as the Big Lin at 35lb 2oz! I was blown away! Falling to an @dtbaits CWGB boosted hookbait and take 4 topper! Boosted further with the matching bait spray, over a bed of matching pellet, crumb, chops, and a few whole Boilies all soaked in the matching DNA liquid! Still buzzing now from landing my winter target!
